Sizzle During National Grilling Month

Here at ServiceMaster by Ayotte we’re all about safety – whether it is about making sure you know what to do when water gets into your home or the importance of clean air vents and returns or how to safely sizzle during National Grilling Month.

Wait! What was that last one?

Yes, our blog posts generally feature ‘how to’ tips on things like preventing water damage, maintaining a safe work environment, and keeping spaces clean, but we wanted to do something a little different in this post. Between all that cleaning and maintaining, it’s important to find some down time. And, what better way to do that than to celebrate National Grilling Month – and to do it safely.

Most people are very good with basic grill safety, like keeping your grills away from deck railings and overhanging branches and never leaving the grill unattended, but do you know how to test your gas grill for leaks?

Here is a simple test to do that:

  • Apply a light soap and water solution to the hose that connects the propane tank to the grill using a brush or spray bottle.
  • Turn the tank on.
  • If there is a gas leak, the propane will release bubbles around the hose.
  • If you get bubbles, immediately turn off the gas and have your grill serviced by a professional.
  • If there are no bubbles, grab your burgers and get sizzling.

We have to admit we love that testing your grill involves something we’re passionate about – cleaning products!

Happy Grilling!
