Both cost-effective and quality training for small businesses.

With the current economic conditions small businesses seem to be seriously scrutinizing each and every dollar that is spent.  When reviewing networking and training opportunities within our organization we could not help but take a second look at the Main Street Chamber.  This organization has different chapters throughout the state.  We at ServiceMaster have recently taken the opportunity to get involved with the chapter based in Mankato.  This organization offers all kinds of great, FREE, training for small business owners.  Each training session so far has included an opportunity for networking as well.  We’ve enjoyed both the training put on by the Google people about all things Google and also a recent training on maximizing the potential of homepages to drive business.  The quality of the trainers that the Main Street Chamber is able to bring in is incredible.  This is clearly NOT a case of you get what you pay for – the attendees definitely make out on this deal.

For those of you that own/operate or work for small business; I would advise checking out the main page for Main Street Chamber.  From there you can find your local chapter and join – for FREE.  You will be able to see all of the training opportunities coming up and networking events as well.  Sometimes there is a cost, however it is always reasonable.  The Main Street Chamber has been able to gather a variety of sponsorships from their members to put on these events.  This is a great opportunity for small businesses to gain more exposure for a reasonable price and also to give back to the organization for providing all of the many benefits that it does.
