Spring Brings Annual Ayotte Adventure

Monday, March 12th, 2012

March is here and with the record setting warm weather, we are all more than ready for winter to be gone for good and spring to be ever-present! At ServiceMaster by Ayotte we couldn’t agree more! This year we are so excited to celebrate spring, our team has put together a Spring Incentive package so we can welcome spring (and summer) with our top referral partners. Hold on to your seats because this is not just a one-time deal either! We are excited to announce our First Annual Ayotte Adventure that will continue on for what I hope will be many years to come (is forever too long?).

So what’s the catch? There is none. It is simple – we value you and your business. It is our job to take care of your customers, who too, are our customers. We want to make your job easier and ultimately, we want to ease the pain to a client who suffers a disaster of any nature – big or small. We (both ServiceMaster by Ayotte and DCI) are standing by 24/7 to help you out. The catch I guess is this – you need to utilize our on line ‘Assign a Claim’ form via our website (www.smbyayotte.com) or thru our soon-to-come QR Code. That is it! A customer of yours needs help (water or fire mitigation, restoration repairs, mold, trauma or specialty cleaning, or even just a ladder assist or inspection) – you electronically ‘Assign’ the work request to us. Just log on to www.smbyayotte.com or www.deutschecontracting.com and click on the ‘Assign a Claim’ tab in the upper right hand corner and you are done. We guarantee a response within 1 hour! Of course you can always call us direct at 877.945.0993, reference the ‘Assign a Claim’ and we will enter it in for you.

We appreciate the trust you are putting in us to help you and your clients!

QRV…ASAP!

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

When is the last time you went a day, an hour, perhaps even a sentence without using one acronym?  Especially now with the amount of texting that people do these days, actual words are going more and more by wayside.  In light of this, I do think it’s timely that we do a little acronym review.

Long before texting, and maybe shortly after the popularity of asking that tasks be completed “ASAP,” ServiceMaster Clean developed “QRV”.  In case the text messages that you share include more “lol’s” and “brb’s” than “QRV’s”, we’ll get you up to speed.

QRV is an “ASAP” program of sorts to provide renters, homeowners, and business owners with both quality and rapid response in time of water, smoke, fire, flood, tornado, and vandalism.   QRV stands for Quality Restoration Vendor.

The following guidelines have to be upheld by a ServiceMaster Clean franchise to be designated a Quality Restoration Vendor, or QRV:

  • Phone lines are answered LIVE 24/7/365.
  • The ability to provide other services such as mold remediation, emergency board-up, debris removal, content inventory & pack-out services, content restoration services including garments, electronics, furniture, and art, HVAC/duct cleaning, competency to properly dry large water losses, and document drying.
  • Utilize Master Moments on each emergency claim.  Master Moments is an opportunity for the ServiceMaster Clean representative to educate individuals suffering a loss about ServiceMaster Clean, the process and expectations that will be adhered to during the restoration process, and assist in capturing all pertinent claim information in one central location for future reference.
  • Keep a series of current certifications earned by attending classes administered by the Clean Trust, the organization that sets all standards for the restoration industry.
  • Own, maintain, and properly operate proper restoration equipment as requested by ServiceMaster Clean within the QRV guidelines.
  • Uphold the highest level of ethics and customer service, including following our four corporate objectives: Honor God in all we do, Excel with Customers, Help People Develop, and Grow Profitably.

Should you see QRV included in a future text message you will know exactly what it stands for.  If someone you knows experiences a disaster, help get them QRV, ASAP!

ServiceMaster by Ayotte responds to local fire – Faribault, MN

ServiceMaster by Ayotte responds to local fire – Faribault, MN

When we say we are 24/7, we really mean it.  One thing that we do differently than most companies is that our staff answers the phone 24/7/365. When you or your customer is in need and you call our office you will never get a recording or a paid answering service. Our staff (specifically, Beth or Lisa) will answer your call and do our best to meet your needs in a timely manner. Whether it is a carpet cleaning inquiry or, as it was this past Saturday, a fire,  we are here to respond. Here is an example:

It was late Saturday afternoon (4:22 p.m. to be exact). I had clean laundry piled all around me and I had just sat down to begin folding for our family of four. I picked the call up and it was RESPOND, an answering and claim dispatch service for many insurance companies. As I scurried for a pen and paper I took all the important tenant information …. A fire loss with odor and soot affecting most of the home. At 4:25 p.m. my initial call was made to the insured. Although we have staff that we typically call out, from the information I gathered, my gut told me ‘pack the kids up and get movin, you’ve got a homeowner to help.  By 5:22 p.m. I had a work file in hand and our production manager, Eduardo, had the necessary odor control equipment loaded in his truck.  By 6 p.m., less than 2 hours after the initial call was initiated, we were onsite with all equipment running, walking thru the home with the insured beginning our mitigation planning.

Although not every job, and every customer is the same, we still do our best to respond as quickly as possible, providing live, immediate and local response. At ServiceMaster by Ayotte this is one step toward RESTORING PEACE OF MIND for our customers.

If you or someone you know suffers from a fire or other devastating event, you can count on ServiceMaster by Ayotte to answer the phone. Call us ANYTIME at (877) 945-0993.

Ozone…what is it?

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Ozone is used to deodorize and restore customer’s belongings after a loss. Ozone is created by passing a powerful electrical charge through ordinary air, bonding an extra oxygen atom to the normal O2 molecule. The extra atom will break off to bond with airborne particles, chemically neutralizing odors. This O3 formation is naturally unstable and will eventually break down without contacting any particles, but until it does the properties of the air have been altered. The creation of the O3 molecule makes the oxygen even more corrosive than usual, causing rapid breakdown in rubber products and oxidation of metals. Too high a concentration will irritate eyes and lungs, and can actually poison pets and humans over time. Ozone is a very effective odor neutralizer, but it must be used in a carefully controlled environment.

ServiceMaster by Ayotte does have portable ozone units that we can place in homes or businesses after a fire or a place suffering from some other environmental contaminant. We will only use them under the right circumstances and when we can be sure that no one will be in the area and in contact with the ozone material.

ServiceMaster by Ayotte also has a dedicated ozone chamber in our warehouse which we use to deodorize furniture and personal items. After vacuuming and cleaning, they are locked in the chamber for 24-48 hours and exposed to heavy ozone concentrations. This method is highly successful even for difficult items such as mattresses, armchairs, sofas, and regular wood furniture and household items which might otherwise be unsalvageable.

Our warehouse and ozone chamber can be visited at any time if you are interested in more information our would like a tour of our facility. Contact us at anytime for details.

Odor Control Services

Monday, February 28th, 2011

If you suffer from a loss due to fire or smoke ServiceMaster by Ayotte provides 24 hour emergency services.

Removal of severe odors from fire and smoke damage requires a variety of professional products, systems and specialty equipment. Often multiple treatments are necessary during the restoration process. We have the systems, deodorizers and equipment to remove a wide range of odors.

-          Air Scrubbers – Smoke and odor particles continue to be airborne many days after the fire has stopped. Air scrubbers use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration to remove these particles from the air, enhancing the efficiency of cleaning and clearing the air for safe breathing.

-          Thermal fogging – This process neutralizes odor, using a strong deodorizer that penetrates everywhere the smoke traveled and will require the removal of pets, plants and human occupants for a short period of time.

-          Ozone – Ozone is a highly reactive oxidant produced by an ozone generator. ServiceMaster by Ayotte has an ozone generator at our location in Northfield, MN.

If you have questions or concerns about odors that were not caused from fire/smoke contact us at 877-945-0993.

Each fire or smoke loss is unique. If you have questions about our fire/smoke damage restorations procedures please don’t hesitate to call us anytime. If you or someone you know suffers from a loss call ServiceMaster by Ayotte at 877-945-0993.

Content Restoration and Pack Out

Monday, January 31st, 2011

ServiceMaster by Ayotte is capable of handling all phases of the restoration process. Maybe the most difficult part of the loss for the owner and/or occupants when there is a property loss is the destruction of contents and personal property. In most cases contents will become the first priority when dealing with fire/water damage.

Cleaning on-site is a quick and efficient method of restoration. Valuable possessions do not have to be moved and can be returned to their original conditions and locations in a timely fashion. In those lighter situations, this returns content quickly and with a minimal cost.

Often conditions are not appropriate for onsite restoration and cleaning. If conditions are severe, such as heavy smoke, extensive structural damage, expedite drying, and/or security concerns; a pack-out may be necessary.

During the Pack Out, trained team members photograph and write a detailed inventory before carefully packing items and moving contents to our climate controlled facility. Special care is exercised in the pack out of your possessions. Once items are unpacked back at our facility, they are cleaned and deodorized. All the items are then processed through our Ozone Chamber. After deodorization, they are inspected. Items that were restored to pre-loss condition are then repacked and stored until your home or business is rebuilt. Some items, after initial cleaning, may not be restored to pre-loss condition. Options at this point may include re-cleaning, refinishing, replacement, or an appearance allowance. Certain items may be determined to be non-cleanable, and will be listed as ‘Total Loss’ by your insurance carrier; this means that your insurance carrier will work directly with you on replacement or allowance for these items. We will keep you informed as the project proceeds.

The technicians at ServiceMaster by Ayotte are trained to handle sensitive situations. We understand that emotions are often running high and we try our best to bring Peace of Mind during these events. Please don’t hesitate to call ServiceMaster by Ayotte if you have questions about our Restoration Process. In the event that you suffer a property loss due to smoke, fire or water, ServiceMaster by Ayotte is here for you 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. Contact us at 877-945-0993
