The last Wednesday of April is designated as Administrative Professionals Day each year. The tradition started many years back when Mary Barrett, president of the then National Secretaries Association, recognized the shortage of qualified Administrative Professionals and anticipated that drawing more attention to this career may draw more qualified candidates.
In today’s economic times there is likely not a shortage of qualified administrative professtionals but likely a great deal of those that have experienced an ever increasing workload and other challenges that small businesses today are facing. We encourage you to take a break and check out one of the florists in our area to thank your admin staff. Thanks and encouragement are gestures that can be often forgotten, however can mean so much and drive productivity higher.
In Mankato we recommend chamber member, Hill Top Florist. In Northfield we recommend Forget me Not Florist. Floral Designs by Jodi in Owatonna and the floral department inside the Hy-vee in Faribault are also great options depending on where your business is located. Checking out the chamber website for your area is also another great resource for finding another florist or maybe something more creative to thank your Administrative Assistant’s hard work and dedication to your business.
